Canadian food inspection agency warns Canadians about salmonella contamination of Sprouts Alive products

Canadians are being warned not to eat certain Sprouts Alive-brand products because of possible salmonella contamination.

UPI reports that the Canadian Food Inspection Agency said the warning and related recall involves all “best before” date codes up to and including 28 August of Sprouts Alive baby onion sprouts and the brand’s alfalfa and onion sprouts. The products were distributed in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.

The inspection agency said food contaminated with salmonella might not look or smell spoiled, but consumption could cause serious and sometimes deadly infections.
