OSI’s Security division, Rapiscan Systems, has received approximately $29 million in orders from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to provide multiple units of its cargo and vehicle inspection solutions

OSI Systems, Inc., a provider of electronic products for critical applications, announced that its Security division, Rapiscan Systems, has received approximately $29 million in orders from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to provide multiple units of its cargo and vehicle inspection solutions for customs inspections and security screening and various air and sea ports of entry.

The products to be provided under the contract represent a range of Rapiscan’s cargo and checkpoint inspection product line, including the Rapiscan Eagle Mobile and the Rapiscan GaRDS Portal. The company says that the fixed and mobile configurations using both X-ray and gamma-ray technology provide the U.S. government with an inspection solution for the detection of a variety of threats and contraband.

OSI Systems is an integrated designer and manufacturer of specialized electronic systems and components for applications in the homeland security, health care, defense, and aerospace industries, the company noted in a release.
