Corestreet's FIPS 201-compliant products now available at GSA

Listing with GSA Special Item Number 132-62 is the reward for compliance and certification efforts

For a company entering the IT security market, compliance with Federal Information Processing Standard 201 (FIPS 201) and other industry standards is critical in gaining access to the government market. Cambridge, Massachusetts-based CoreStreet, a provider of infrastructure and applications for smart credential and convergence programs, has been diligent in this area and finds itself rewarded: it announced yesterday that its products — the CoreStreet Validation Authority, Path Builder System, and Responder Appliance 2400 — are all now available for purchase through the General Services Administration’s (GSA) Special Item Number 132-62.

SIN 132-62 was established to help implement the requirements of Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) and FIPS 201. The goal of the Directive, with which all federal agencies must be compliant by 27 October 2006, is to create a single, government-wide credential that can be used to access both physical and logical resources. As we reported in June, CoreStreet is a founding member of the HSPD-12 Interoperability Consortium, which aims to provide an industry perspective to government agencies and system integrators.
