The Georgia Tech Information Center hosts the inaugural GFIRST-USSS/ECTF-Infragard meeting

It cannot be too long before we have a national conference on acronyms. This week the Government Forum of Incident Responders and Security Teams (GFIRST), the U.S. Secret Service’s Electronic Crimes Task Force (USSS-ECTF), and the InfraGard National Members Alliance (InfraGard) announced the inaugural Joint GFIRST-USSS/ECTF-InfraGard meeting on 16 August 2006 in Atlanta, to be hosted by the Georgia Tech Information Security Center (GTISC). The meeting, a press release explained, “will pilot the periodic merger of the three organizations to channel government and private sector expertise to address cyber security and infrastructure protection.”

Details: Richard A. DeMillo, Dean of the Georgia Tech College of Computing, will give the opening address, followed by a DHS presentation on the National Infrastructure Protection Plan. The meeting is open to the media and general public.
