Robotics updateInRob Tech, Frontline Robotics to collaborate

Two robotics specialists — one Canadian, one Israeli — agree to collaborate in marketing and joint bidding on defense-related robotics projects

Israeli robotics company InRob Tech said it had summarized preliminary principles of collaboration with Ottawa, Canada-based Frontline Robotics, a specialist in developing systems and technologies for robot platforms. This collaboration will include marketing and joint bidding on defense-related robotics projects. Frontline Robotics develops systems and technologies for unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) which focus on perimeter security and public safety. The company develops a range of mobile robotic solutions for homeland security that are built around its core technology, the Robot Open Control (ROC), a robot operating system that provides autonomy and cognitive collaboration for teams of mobile robots.

The technologies of the two companies complement each other. InRob says that Frontline Robotic’s software technology and integration expertise will allow InRob to improve our MIL-STD (military standard technology) remote controlled UGVs by allowing them to patrol autonomously, avoid obstacles, and communicate bidirectionally in real time amongst robot team members and with the base station.
