We wrote yesterday about Intransa, a big player in simple, green video surveillance solutions for physical security. After we went to print, we received news that that the company has been named 2009 New Product of the Year in the Network-Centric Security category.

Intransa VideoAppliance, introduced in June 2009, was honored by Security Products Magazine for outstanding product development and its ability to improve workplace security. Ten grand prize winners in seven categories were chosen by an independent panel of judges in the award program.

Intransa is a provider of simple, affordable video appliances that eliminate commodity servers and storage while reducing IP surveillance complexity for installers and security departments. Intransa VideoAppliances are on display supporting eleven video management systems and a dozen brands of IP cameras.

Note that Intransa’s award-winning VideoAppliance is also on display in more than a dozen partner booths throughout the show.

The VideoAppliance has been a huge success for Intransa this year and is being rapidly adopted by a varied customer base ranging from municipalities to retail stores who want to reduce the cost, energy consumption and complexity of their video surveillance,” said Jeff Whitney, vice president of marketing, who accepted the award in a ceremony held in the Intransa booth. “We’re proud of the advanced technology Intransa’s VideoAppliance brings to the physical security industry and we’d like to thank our customers and partners for making it a success.”
