Company recognized as best in disaster recovery service, datacenter management; Attenda and BladeLogic received much-deserved recognition

Strike up the band for London-based IXEurope, the winner of the Best Disaster Recovery Service Provider and Best Datacentre in Europe awards at the recent Data Centre Europe Awards 2007. Intended to highlight stars in the sector, as well as raise public awareness of the industry more broadly, the Data Centre Europe competition is judged entirely by voting from within the industry. “Although this is the first and only industry awards programme, the quality and quantity of entries we have received reflects the success of the initiative and the interest in the data centre sector,” said Nicola Hayes of consulting firm BroadGroup, the organizer of the event. “Being recognised by the industry in these two important categories is an impressive achievement.”

Other award winners include TelecityRedbus, which won the Best Pan European Data Centre and Outstanding Leadership in Data Centres awards; Attenda, which won for Best Managed Services, Migration Solutions; Bladelogic, which won the Most Innovative New Software award; and Active Power, which won the Most Innovative New Hardware award. Companies shortlisted for the awards included AMS, Cap Gemini, Cartagon SL, Checkpoint, Data Center Luxembourg, Digital Realty, Galileo Connect, HP, Interxion, Level (3) Communications, Nexellent, Pioneer Technology, Phoenix IT, Q-Layer, Safehost SA, Schnabel AG, Scotland Online, Sungard Availability Services, Stockley Park, Verizon Business Services, and VMWare.
