John Stroia, vice president of government security and monitoring solutions for North Canton, Ohio-based Diebold (NYSE: DBD), has joined the board of directors of Alexandria, Virginia-based Security Industry Association (SIA). SIA is a nonprofit trade association with more than 300 member companies. It represents electronic and physical security product manufacturers, standard specifiers, and service providers. Stroia, who has been with Diebold for sixteen years, has been involved in both product development and business planning, and is currently leading Diebold’s government security sales organization and event monitoring team. His areas of activity dovetail with SIA’s initiatives, which include support to companies in biometrics, access control, and systems integration.

Dennis Moriarty, Diebold’s senior vice president for global security, said that “Considering Diebold’s pioneering role in the security industry and John’s commitment to the advancement of the industry, his selection to the SIA board was the logical choice.” He added: “We expect John’s impact and visionary outlook on the security industry will be put to effective use in his new post with fellow industry leaders.”
