Representative Peter T. King (R-New York), chairman-elect of the House Committee on Homeland Security, announced Monday the homeland security subcommittees for the 112th Congress and his appointments of subcommittee chairmen

U.S. Representative Peter T. King (R-New York), chairman-elect of the House Committee on Homeland Security, announced Monday the homeland security subcommittees for the 112th Congress and his appointments of subcommittee chairmen.

King said: “I look forward to working with this team of homeland security subcommittee chairmen, who recognize that the Committee on Homeland Security’s number one priority must be combating the ongoing terrorist threats facing our homeland. These subcommittee chairmen have long demonstrated their steadfast commitment to protecting our homeland from the terrorists who continue to plot and execute attacks against our nation.”

The 112th Congress Committee on Homeland Security subcommittee chairmen will be (in alphabetical by subcommittee name):

  • Rep. Candice Miller (Missouri), chairman, Subcommittee on Border and Maritime Security
  • Rep. Patrick Meehan (Pennsylvania), chairman, Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence
  • Rep. Dan Lungren (California), chairman, Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection, and Security Technologies
  • Rep. Gus Bilirakis (Florida), chairman, Subcommittee on Emergency Preparedness, Response, and Communications
  • Rep. Michael T. McCaul (Texas), chairman, Subcommittee on Oversight, Investigations, and Management
  • Rep. Mike Rogers (Alabama), chairman, Subcommittee on Transportation Security
