The International Security Conference & Exposition, also known as ISC West, is the largest event in the United States for the physical security industry. This year’s event, held 6-8 April in Las Vegas, was even bigger than last year. ISC West covers access control, alarms and monitoring, biometrics, IP security, video surveillance / CCTV, and much more. Companies have come to use the platform ISC West offers to unveil the newest security products and security technology, and people who work in the industry use the sprawling event to network with colleagues and security professionals. Attendees also avail themselves of the many valuable security industry training and educational opportunities available through ISC Premier Education Seminars.

Here are some figures for ISC West 2011:

  • The show saw a 10 percent increase in overall attendance over last year’s show, according to statement issued by Reed Exhibitions, the event organizer
  • The show, which drew representatives from across the industry, including manufacturers, dealers, and integrators, also saw a 7 percent increase in end-user attendance this year.
  • The ISC West 2011 show floor was 15,000-square-feet larger than it was last year
  • It featured more than 10,000 products from over 900 exhibiting companies
  • In addition, ISC West 2011 also featured a large contingent of international security professionals, who made up more than 10 percent of the show’s attendance figures
  • Canada represented the largest international participation, followed by Mexico, Brazil, Korea, and Australia

This year’s event turned a fresh page on the future of security,” Securityinformationwatch quotes Ed Several, senior vice president of ISC Events, to say. “With robust and enthusiastic participation from the industry at ISC West, along with the largest U.S. security show floor to explore new products and technologies and a comprehensive educational program, ISC West continues as a barometer of good things to come for the remainder of 2011 and beyond. We are grateful that the industry chooses to gather with us and our partner, SIA.”
