Security Alliance calls for greater leadership in protecting U.S. information infrastructure

The 9/11 Commission gave the administration many F’s and D’s on keeping America safe, and the leading U.S. cyber security alliance agrees, while calling on the administration to show more leadership — and more energy — in protecting the nation’s IT infrastructure

Arlington, Virginia-based Cyber Security Industry Alliance (CSIA) called on the federal government to assert greater leadership in the protection of the U.S. information infrastructure in 2006. Its release of the “National Agenda for Information Security in 2006” identifies thirteen specific actions required to improve information security for consumers, industry, and governments globally. As part of the “National Agenda”, CSIA also provides a report of the government’s limited progress in information security in 2005 and releases a new “Digital Confidence Index” that reflects the public’s lack of confidence in the nation’s critical infrastructure.
