GovSec WestSecurity professionals gear up for GovSec West

Security professionals from across the country are slated to descend upon Phoenix, Arizona for the GovSec West security conference in November; attendees will have the opportunity to participate in educational sessions that focus on securing critical infrastructure, cyber threats, terrorism, and border security

 Security professionals from across the country are slated to descend upon Phoenix, Arizona for the GovSec West security conference in November.

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in educational sessions that focus on securing critical infrastructure, cyber threats, terrorism, and border security. Notable panels include “The Economic Strategy of Jihad,” “Using Social Media to Protect Critical Infrastructure,” and “Implications of the Debate over Border Violence Spillover.”
In addition, thirty major security companies including Assa Abloy, Cellbusters, and Flir Commercial Systems will be on hand to showcase their latest products.
This year’s keynote speakers are Alan Mather, the head of NASA’s Protective Services Division, and Nicholas Stein, the series producer of National Geographic’s Border Wars.
Representatives from local, state, and federal government agencies as well as the private sector have already registered including DHS field agents, Army security mangers, and executives from cybersecurity firms.
In addition, the Network-Centric Security conference will be occurring in conjunction with the GovWest Security Conference to provide a live, interactive environment for the convergence of physical and IT security.
According to the website, the conference is designed to provide “hands-on opportunities for CSOs, CIOs, and IT managers to learn about security innovations in the IP/networking world with the goal of technology integration into an overall network structure in both private and public sector companies, firms and agencies.”
The two days conference begins 14 November at the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort.
