Aimed at high school students (and interested adults), Nano-Bio Kits feature hands-on experiments and instructional material for teachers

Add this to your (or your child’s) Christmas list: Singapore’s Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (IBN) has developed a series of education kits to help youngsters learn about practical applications in nanobiotechnology, drug delivery and medical devices. Three different versions of the the IBN Nano-Bio Kits are available — the Biological Fuel Cell Kit, the Thermo-responsive Hydrogel Kit, and the Dielectrophoresis Chip Kit — and all feature interactive experiments, lesson plans, and background readings for the high school set. “The Kits provide a refreshing way of teaching topics across the disciplines within the science domain and gives an excellent opportunity for us to introduce nanotechnology and its application to our young students,” said one Singaporean teacher. “I was pleasantly surprised that experiments on topics of such an advanced level could be scaled down to our level in the laboratory,” agreed one of his students.
