Explosive detection is the rage, and mass spectrometry California detection developer impressively wins award for its device

Tustin, California-based Syagen Technology, an analytical instrumentation company which focuses on the homeland security markets, received a welcome recognition: Its Guardian Explosives Trace Detection (ETD) Portal was presented with the Highly Commended Access Control Product award at the 2005 Detektor International award ceremony held in Stockholm, Sweden. The award was given for the explosive detector for being the most accurate and non-intrusive portal available for detecting concealed explosives on individuals. The Guardian portal is the only device on the market for screening people that is based on the powerful detection technology of mass spectrometry (MS).

The Guardian was nominated by a jury of nine independent professionals associated with the editorial board of Detektor International. The Guardian portal was officially introduced by Syagen in June of 2005 at the Air & Port Security Expo in Brussels, Belgium.
