TSA considers barring veterans with mental health issues from commercial flights

TSA is looking for a company to create a database which would monitor veterans with mental health problems for possible inclusion in flight Watch List

Military personnel and veterans with mental health issues could end up on the TSA’s terror Watch List and barred from access to commercial flights. The TSA is looking for contractors to build new databases to help screen airline passengers, and the agency’s RFP says it wants the database to include information about military personnel from Department of Defense (DoD) files and veterans from Department of Veterans’ Affairs (VA) files. To use TSA’s own language: “Examples of new data sources would be DoD files for military service histories or VA files for lists of persons who have been declared mental defectives.”
