TVI contamination protection kit receives NIOSH approval

Published 8 March 2006

Once troubled TVI Corporation (NASDAQ: TVIN) of Glenn Dale, Maryland, has received National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) approval for its PureAir Bio-Response Kit. TVI is a supplier of deployable first responder systems for homeland security, hospitals, the military, police and fire departments, and public health agencies. NIOSH approval of the PureAir system is an impressive achievement for TVI and it will allow it to target the hospital, healthcare, and EMS markets more aggressively. The previous generation PAPRs had been designed for military applications. The hospital, healthcare, and EMS markets are very large and growing markets, offering the company new markets.

We have begun to aggressively market the PureAir Bio-Response Kit to the healthcare community,” say company president and CEO Richard Priddy. “The system ensures the protection of hospital, laboratory and clean room staff against biological contaminants. We anticipate that this product line will be a strong contributor to revenues in late 2006.”
