Detecting Deception in Verbal and Written Statements
Saturday, 8 September-Sunday, 9 September 9, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Statement Analysis (SA) is a powerful investigative tool which enables a security professional or investigator to detect deception in verbal and written statements. Learning this skill will enhance participants’ interviewing and interrogation techniques, even for experienced investigators. In this intensive, hands-on program, participants will learn to understand the differences in communication styles between a truthful and a deceptive person — allowing them to detect deception in verbal and written statements and identify suspects more quickly. They will learn when to take statements from suspects or when to use a Multiple Suspect Elimination Technique when evidence is not available to point to a suspect. Attendees will work with real case examples from criminal investigations that were solved using these proven techniques. Statement Analysis can be used in any type of investigation and helps participants focus on a suspect early in the investigation, saving time and valuable resources.
