Northrop Grumman tests Oxford Metrics Group’s software which make UAVs “see” things the way a human pilot would

Lake Forest, California-based 2d3 AIG, the U.S. subsidy of Oxford Metrics Group (OMG), has signed a contract with Northrop Grumman to provide software that allows UAV aircraft to “see” as a human pilot does. The contract covers a six-month pilot project valued at $100,000 that aims to evaluate 2d3’s algorithms for use in detecting and tracking other flying vehicles from an airborne camera. 2d3 claims that its algorithms would  also help a UAV to avoid other aircraft.
