They try harder

Jay Leno said that they found a man in a cave in China whose handwriting was so small, he could put half a chapter of the New Testament on one strand of human hair; but this was only his hobby: His vocation was to write the fine print on rent-a-car contracts; well, Avis Europe hires a U.K. business continuity company to beef up disaster recovery systems in Avis’s Frankfurt, Germany, data center, so all these rent-a-car contracts could survive a disaster

Avis Europe has selected London-based Affiniti to provide the infrastructure and support for a new Avis Europe data centre in Frankfurt, Germany. The facility will provide disaster recovery for Avis Europe’s U.K. data centre. Affiniti will design and install cabling, Cisco switches and servers, as well as security products from Nokia and Check Point. Security includes Check Point’s SmartCentre management GUI to synchronize policy information. Tailored support services in Germany will be provided through Affiniti’s Service One Alliance partner, NK Networks & Services, which is part of the network integration group AXIANS.
