Terrorists have learned to develop increasingly sophisticated explosives as evidenced by the uni-directional bombs detonated last week in Karachi, Pakistan that killed three Pakistan Rangers and injured several others.

Investigators believe that all four blasts used in the attack relied on unidirectional technology, which allows terrorists to control the direction of the blast and target an area more effectively.

Officials fear that terrorists in Pakistan imported the technology from Afghanistan where it has been used against foreign troops to devastating effect and are working to stem the flow of knowledge and materials.

Investigators have yet to determine the perpetrators behind the attack, but have been given permission to conduct search and seizure operations in Afghan settlements.
