Ann Arbor, Michigan-based OptiMetrics, a scientific research and engineering company, has been awarded the Support Anti-Terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies (SAFETY) Act Designation and Certification by DHS for its first responder tool, ADASHI (Automated Decision Aid System for Hazardous Incidents) First Response. DHS has designated ADASHI First Response as a Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology (QATT) and granted certification of the software for inclusion on the Approved Products List for Homeland Security. This certification is given to technologies aiming to preventing, detect, identify, or deter acts of terrorism, or limit the harm that such acts might otherwise cause. The SAFETY Act was enacted to provide risk and litigation management protections for sellers of qualified anti-terrorism technologies. The Act was designed to encourage the development of anti-terrorism technologies that enhance the protection of the nation. Additional information can be found at www.safetyact.gov.
