Cradle, InterAct in video analytic solution

There is a major trend toward video analytics — allowing ever more sophisticated software manage more and more cameras and help detect suspicious behavior and incidents

Winston-Salem, North Carolina-based InterAct Public Safety Systems, a provider of public safety and homeland security technology solutions, said that they would use the Cradle CT3616-enabled Grouper digital video recorder (DVR) PCI card made by Sunnyvale, California-based Cradle Technologies, a company providing Multi-core DSPs (MDSPs) for video and imaging systems. The card will run the content analytics on TrueSentry, InterAct’s digital video surveillance platform. The partnership is yet another indication of the growing trend toward video analytics [see HSDW ….], which marries video cameras, computers, and sophisticated algorithms. TrueSentry uses a software program to alert surveillance employees when suspicious situations occur which call for action. A set of video content analytics allows not only for fewer employees to monitor more cameras, but also allows users to track distant objects and behaviors more closely by setting the image size, compression ratio, and frame rate for each camera in the security network. For example, if TrueSentry detects motion in a camera, it can instantly change the frame rate to capture high-quality images of the suspicious incident.
