Russian security distributor orders 1,000 Licenses for Vertex Networked Video Management Software from EVT; Russia is a lucrative market for surveillance equipment and gear aimed at critical infrastructure facilities

Petach Tikva, Israel-based EVT, a developer of video management software, says it has received a large license order to deliver its Vertex networked video management and recording software to L.B. DeFence, a Russian subsidiary of Israeli Group L.B., a security systems holding company. The initial order includes 1,000 licenses for Vertex networked video management software. The licenses will be used for large-scale surveillance deployments in Russia. EVT signed an exclusive distribution agreement with L.B. DeFence at the start of 2008. The agreement calls for L.B. DeFence to distribute, install, and support EVT’s Vertex system, among its customers in Russia.

L.B. DeFence is a distributor of security systems with offices in Israel , Moscow, and Kiev, providing security systems for the protection of key government and large enterprises, including the airports of Kiev, Moscow, Ivanovo, Taganrog , the Ministry of Defense of Russia and Ukraine, leading companies such ase Rosneft, Rainko, and Mosvodokanal. “The Russian video surveillance market offers a huge commercial potential for video management solutions however, owing to bandwidth limitations and the large size of the sites requiring remote monitoring and control of hundreds of cameras, it is limited to very flexible solutions,” said Mike Sutovsky, vice president Group LB. “After thorough examination of the video management solutions available on the market, EVT was chosen as the best to meet the requirements of this challenging market.” Oren Feldmann, VP of Sales and Marketing at EVT, said that “This agreement represents a major step forward in achieving revenue growth for EVT from the Russian market. This growing market is facing complex surveillance challenges, in securing its governmental, educational, banking, transportation and tourism complexes. The combination of EVT’s video management software and DeFence’s extensive security experience should allow us to rapidly address many of these challenges as well as to help protect Russian’s leading enterprises and government facilities.”
