Cameras which can watch terrorists can also watch criminals, so a large liquor retail chain in Florida buys a few hundreds of them

City of Industry, California-based Global ePoint (Nasdaq: GEPT) is a manufacturer of security technologies for the aviation, law enforcement, and government, but its technology is also applicable in other markets. The company’s digital technology division has just received an order for more than 500 digital video surveillance cameras from the largest liquor store chain in the state of Florida. The company’s surveillance cameras offer good images with 560 TV Lines and vari-focal, auto IRIS high-end features. The cameras are also built so that they easily blend into a retailer’s store location so as to offer surveillance in an unobtrusive manner.

Stuart Unger, director of sales for Global ePoint’s Digital Technology Division correctly points out that “This order reflects the growing demand from large retailers for our line of fixed video surveillance solutions.” Since the retail industry is regarded as the second largest market for electronic security products, this is good news for the company.
