Plastic surgeon tries to check bloody garments and instruments; much to the disgust of local officials, a leak betrays him

We have heard of taking your work with you, but this is going too far. An Australian plastic surgeon was detained recently at Queenstown Airport after bloody fluid began seeping from his checked luggage. After Qantas officials demanded an explanation, Dr. Peter Walker explained that his bag contained used surgery gowns, a blood-soaked towel, and various surgical instruments, the result being, to use the good doctor’s words, “diluted watery blood stained the bottom of the sack”. Before boarding a later flight the surgeon was asked to seal the unsavory items in a plastic airline bag . Anybody want to bet it was quart-sized?
