Authentix wins recognition for a process it developed for the synthesis of nanomaterials for security applications

Addison, Texas-based Authentix has won Nanotech Briefs Magazine’s Nano 50 award. The company won the award for a process it developed for the synthesis of nanomaterials for security applications. The Nano 50 Awards recognize the top fifty technologies, products, and innovators which have influenced, or are expected to influence, the state of the art in nanotechnology.

When working in the nanoscale, materials begin to behave differently,” explained Ravi Rao, director of Research & Development, Material Science at Authentix. “On a nanoscale, we are working with materials that exhibit distinctive optical properties; this allows Authentix to create unique signatures for covert marking applications.” Authentix utilizes nanoscale engineering to fight counterfeiting and diversion in the pharmaceutical, oil and gas, consumer, and agrochemical industries.

The Nano 50 awards will be presented at a special reception and awards dinner during NASA Tech Briefs National Nano Engineering Conference at the Boston Marriott Newton, November 9-10. Visit www.techbriefs.com/nano for more information about the conference.
