Bioscrypt moves U.S. operations to Canada

The biometrics market is growing, but this does not mean that cost-cutting and belt-tightening measures do not get applied, and Bioscrypt — a company describing itself as providing door-to-desktop solutions — is going through such belt-tightening now

Canadian biometrics company Bioscrypt (TSX: BYT) says it will close its El Segundo, California operation as the firm moves work to Toronto in a cost-cutting initiative. Sales, marketing, and support functions now being performed in El Segundo, near Santa Monica, will be moved by the end of April.

The company develops and sells biometric embedded solutions, access control readers, and identity and access management software to protect the physical and network assets of international government agencies and leading organizations in the financial services, health care, and manufacturing sectors. Its technology has been used in eye-recognition programs used at airports.
