A man in Egypt’s Qena governorate, some 280 miles southeast of Cairo, found a suspicious bird among four others near his home and brought the small flock to a police station Friday. The police officers found a small electronic device attached to one of the legs of the suspected bird. Veterinary experts consulted by the police discovered the device was a wildlife tracker used by French scientists to follow the movement of migrating birds.
