Business continuity executives, consultants make more money

Interested in becoming a corporate business continuity officer? There is good news for you. Irvine, California-based BC Management has published the U.K. and European results of its global salary survey, which was supported by Continuity Central and the Caversham, U.K.-based Business Continuity Institute, among other organizations. More than 190 professionals throughout Europe completed the survey, which gathered data on 2004 and 2005 salaries. Of these, 140 responses were from the U.K., allowing statistically significant results to be given for this country. Survey results show a 4.2 percent year on year increase in salary for U.K.-based full time business continuity executives, while independent consultants saw a 2.9 percent increase in payments. Hourly rates for independent consultants varied with an average low hourly rate of “159 and an average high hourly rate of “232.
