Detroit police disarm IED found in restaurant

On Sunday, an improvised explosive device was found in the restroom of a Detroit restaurant; police confirmed that it was a bomb and successfully disarmed it

On Sunday, an improvised explosive device was found in the restroom of a Detroit restaurant.

At 2:45 PM, an employee discovered the device and immediately alerted the authorities.

Detroit Police evacuated the restaurant as well as nearby businesses for safety as the bomb squad inspected the device.

Police confirmed that it was a bomb and successfully disarmed it by detonating it.

This was indeed an improvised explosive device,” said DHS inspector Don Johnson.

According to Sergeant Eren Stephens, the police are currently reviewing the surveillance videos to identify the suspect.
