DHS seeking expanded role for drones

DHS is looking to expand its use of drones in patrolling vast swaths of land along the U.S.-Mexico border. The department issues a request for information (RFI), saying it was looking for drones which would provide what the DHS says is “persistent, long-term surveillance over urban and rural terrain at least the size of 16 km2.”
