Israel’s intelligence services helped prevent 50 terrorist attacks in 20 countries in the last three years, it was revealed last night.

A report by Israel’s Channel 12 News said that the Mossad and Israeli Military Intelligence had helped prevent fifty terrorist attacks by providing foreign governments and their intelligence agencies with information that an attack was being planned either by ISIS or Iranian sponsored groups in their countries.

The report did not give details of the attacks but did reveal that Israel helped prevent twelve attacks in Turkey. The report emphasized that despite the overt diplomatic hostility between Israel and Turkey, intelligence cooperation between the two countries has remained strong. This took place during a period in which there was minimal dialogue between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who has been one of Israel’s most vocal critics in the region.

Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein said: “It appears that not only the citizens of Israel owe thanks to the Mossad. It would be interesting if the tyrant Erdogan would be kind enough to thank us for saving the lives of his citizens,” he added. “Spoiler: No.”

Bicom reports that in June the Telegraph reported that police in London discovered three tons of ammonium nitrate stored inside disposable ice packs when they raided four properties in north-west London. At the time it was reported that the discovery of a Hezbollah bomb plot was assisted by information from Israel’s external intelligence agency Mossad. A U.K. intelligence source told the Telegraph that: “MI5 worked independently and closely with international partners to disrupt the threat of malign intent from Iran and its proxies in the U.K.”

In June, Prime Minister Netanyahu spoke publicly about Israel’s capability to use cyber intelligence to help prevent dozens of attacks around the world. He gave the example of informing the Australian government of an attack on an Etihad Airways flight from Sydney to Abu Dhabi.
