$10 million contract follows news that the Israeli company’s UAVs are active in Iraq

We have to say, March was a good week for Israel-based Elbit Systems. First, the company unveiled it new streetfighting robot; and then it revealed that its Skylark UAV was deployed in Iraq. Now, in what we might call the HSDW trifecta, the company announced that it had won a $10 million contract to install an integrated coastal surveillance system for Lithuania by the end of 2007. Under the contract, which is funded by the European Union, Elbit will install a comprehensive suite of coastal surveillance and management C4I software, including advanced data processing, fusion and sharing capabilities, and the ability to control multiple remote coastal sites from single or multiple workstations (on a client-server basis). It also includes an Automatic Identification System and Direction Finders system. “In recent years we see an increased demand for smarter and more autonomous border management systems,” said Elbit’s Uri Dobkin.
