DHS’s S&T Directorate helps the IEEE in a conference aiming to explore next-generation technologies capable of deployment within three to five years

Organizers of the 2008 IEEE International Conference on Technologies for Homeland Security, which will be held 12-13 May 2008, have put out a call for papers on enabling technologies. The conference is seeking technical papers in software security; CBRNE (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, or high-yield explosive), with a focus on transportation infrastructure; cybersecurity and surveillance; risk assessment; incident response; and information sharing. The conference will focus on novel and innovative technologies addressing the most pressing national-security problems. DHS’s intellectually restless outfit, the Science & Technology Directorate, will provide technical assistance to the conference.

Technical papers submitted should focus on next-generation technologies capable of deployment within three to five years. The deadline for abstracts is 10 November 2007.
