Israeli company will team up with Raytheon to swap out existing DVRs at 850 FAA and DoD sites

More good news for the New Jersey offices of Ra’anana, Israel-based NICE Systems. The company, which has recently signed deals to protect the Beligian water supply and the Toronto airport, announced this week that it had won a $69 million contract to enhance air traffic recording capability at 850 FAA and DoD sites. Part of the FAA’s Voice Recorder Replacement Program (VRPP), NICE has already received an initial order of $2.7 million under the award. As prime contractor, the company has signed up Raytheon to do the work of swapping out existing digital voice recording systems with NICE’s Inform “multimedia incident information management solution.” The idea, of course, is to enhance the ability of the FACC to reconstruct air-related incidents by quickly assembling various forms of multimedia incident information, such as voice recordings, photos, and flight plans. NICE is pleased with itself. “We are seeing a growing need for this technology and see it as a growth engine for NICE moving forward,” said company CEO Haim Shani.
