Group to discuss need for federal natural disaster insurance program, formation of national Realtor emergency task force

September is a heady month for the United States. Not only do we commemorate the tragedy of 9/11, the begining and end of the Second World War occured during this month, reminding us all of both great tragedy and great triumph. With this in mind, September is now officially designated National Preparedness Month and a website, www.ready.gov, is being heavily promoted as a one-stop shop for emergency readiness information.

The National Association of Realtors is helping, too. It announced this week the creation of a disaster planning task force made up of Realtors [BEN-always capitalized] and a natural disaster symposium to be held in Washington, DC on 18 September. The main topic of the meeting will be the need for a federal natural disaster insurance program.
