RSA to acquire Tablus

RSA’s Infoscape, an intelligent information management solution, will be augmented with Tablus’s data discovery and classification, monitoring, and data loss prevention solution

Bedford, Massachusetts-based RSA, the security division of EMC (NYSE: EMC), will acquire San Mateo, California-based data leak specialist Tablus. The Tablus solution will add what is regarded as an industry-leading data discovery and classification, monitoring, and data loss prevention capabilities to RSA’s data security portfolio. RSA will combine Tablus’s products with the EMC Infoscape intelligent information management solution to create a common platform which enables organizations to discover, classify, and take policy-based action on all of their data. Specifically, Tablus made a name for itself as an expert in quickly and accurately locating and protecting valuable intellectual property, sensitive personal information, and security-related content, and this expertise will now be compbined with Infoscape’s solutions for managing data according to specific governance requirements regarding retention and archiving, as well as preparation for litigation support through e-discovery.

The acquisition of Tablus is expected to be completed early in the fourth quarter of 2007, subject to customary closing conditions.
