Illinois teen arrested for trying to join Syrian terrorist group

Abdella Ahmad Tounisi, 18, a U.S. citizen, was arrested on terrorism-related charges Friday night when he attempted to board a plane at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport for Turkey. Tounisi is charged with one count of attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization. The youngster planned to fly to Turkey, and then cross into Syria to join Jabhat al-Nusrah, an al Qaeda-affiliated group which the United States regards as a terrorist organization.
