ShotSpotter raises $10.5 million

On Thursday, ShotSpotter, Inc., the manufacturers of gunshot location and detection technology, announced that it had raised $7 million in equity and expanded its credit facility by $3.5 million; with the additional funds, ShotSpotter will expand its flagship product the ShotSpotter GunSpotter Location System in international markets

On Thursday, ShotSpotter, Inc., the manufacturers of gunshot location and detection technology, announced that it had raised $7 million in equity and expanded its credit facility by $3.5 million.

With the additional funds, ShotSpotter will expand its flagship product the ShotSpotter GunSpotter Location System in international markets.

The money comes primarily from the company’s existing investors which include City Light Capital, Levensohn Venture Partners, and the Westly Group.

“ShotSpotter is in an excellent position to capitalize on the global demand for technology solutions focused on security and safety,” said Pascal Levensohn, the managing partner of Levensohn Venture Partners and chairman of the board of ShotSpotter.

ShotSpotter is currently in use in cities across the United States as well as in Brazil and the United Kingdom.

Most recently in York City, Pennsylvania on 4 June the ShotSpotter system was able to instantly alert police officers that a shooting had occurred. Officers were able to quickly head to the scene and found two people who had been shot. They were immediately rushed to the hospital and treated for their wounds.

ShotSpotter was founded in 1995 and is based in Mountain View, California.
