Singapore buys TVI's air purifying gear

Another contract for Glenn Dale, Maryland-based TVI Corporation (NASDAQ: TVIN), a developer of contamination protection products for homeland security, hospitals, and the military: The company, which had struggled for a while, has received a $230,000 order for SafetyTech’s Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPRs) from the Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF). TVI acquired privately held SafetyTech International in November 2005.

PAPRs are designed to support the military, first responders, and anyone facing respiratory threats. The system provides more comprehensive protection than standard gas masks as a constant flow of purified air passes through filter cartridges. The product meets the latest proposed Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) standards.
