SmartTECH to market Akoura's DataSecure software in India

DataSecure’s clever “obfuscation technology” disguises senstive data as commonplace files; unauthorized users are welcomed into the system, but once there they find nothig of value; “cryptographic data store” hides secure information from the operating system so normal and embedded files look the same on the Properties menu

There is nothing obscure about this deal. India-based consulting firm SmartTECH (motto: “Architecting New Vistas with Secure Solutions” — whatever that means) last week announced a partnership with Chagrin Falls, Ohio-based Akoura Biometrics to market the latter’s DataSecure “obfuscation technology” on the Indian subcontinent. Unlike traditional network security regimes, which attempt to keep intruders out but have few answers once security has been breached, DataSecure does not mind letting in bad guys. Once inside, however, would-be data thieves are unable to identify critical information, DataSecure having transformed it into innocent looking data
