Anglian Water implements Intergraph's G/Water solution

Published 2 March 2006

Lincoln, U.K.-based Anglian Water Services, part of AWG Plc, is implementing Huntsville, Alabama-based Intergraph’s(NASDAQ: INGR) G/Technology for its core network management system. The contract is the first element of Anglian Water’s corporate Geographical Information System (GIS) replacement program, which calls for a high degree of geographic information exploitation throughout all aspects of the water company’s business operations.

For Anglian Water, geographic information is an important element in its information infrastructure. The G/Technology system implementation will include business process-driven integration with the company’s SAP system using GeoSpatial Enterprise Integrator, Intergraph’s integration module. Anglian is a long-time Intergraph customer, and the contract is an upgrade from FRAMME to G/Technology. The new implementation should lower the whole-life cost of ownership as it moves from a customized environment to a more flexible commercial-off-the-shelf-based solution.

The project is being implemented by Anglian Water’s IT outsourcing provider, El Segundo, California-based Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), as the prime contractor. Intergraph will provide a version of G/Water which is designed specifically for the U.K. market. CSC will integrate the G/Water solution with Anglian Water’s existing systems.
