Deal just the latest in major acquisitions for the Canadian firm and follows on purchase of Vance; Securite a major Quebec-based provider of guard services

Montreal, Canada-based Garda World Security does not behave in the manner of a typical security guard, sitting down and waiting for things to happen. The company, a leader in range of security-related services, has been on a buying streak as of late. This week it announced it had acquired Quebec City, Canada-based Securite et Protection Secpro, a guard services provider, for a price of C$6.85 million. The latter has over 1,700 employees and generates over $37 million in annual revenues.

The news comes just months after we reported that Garda had snatched up Oakton, Virginia-based Vance International for $67.3 million from Charlotte, North Carolina-based holding company SPX Corp. Vance, with annual revenues of $155 million, was an attractive target due to its enviable client list, including major U.S. corporations and the military. The acquisition was said to give Garda entry into the big and secretive world of private corporate investigations in the United States.
