Intergraph selected for New York City's MTA security upgrade work

Lockheed Martin has been selected to do a comprehensive upgrade of the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s (MTA) electronic security operations infrastructure, a $200 million, three-year project. Lockheed has now selected Madison, Alabama-based Intergraph Corporation (NASDAQ: INGR) has been selected to provide command-and-control solutions to the upgrade project, which includes New York City Transit, Long Island Railroad, Metro North Railroad, and MTA bridges and tunnels. Intergraph’s contract comes under the Integrated Electronic Security System and Command, Communications, and Control (IESS/C3) program.

Intergraph specializes in public safety and security software which aims to allow security organizations quickly to detect and respond to critical incidents. The need for better coordination and control of diverse emergency response teams will only increase, and so will the demand for the company’s solutions.
