Emergency responseNew first response RFID system developed

Published 8 September 2008

In a scene of a disaster, first responders want to make sure they know where each member of the rescue team is; they often also need to tag and monitor the whereabouts of equipment and gear; long-range RFID is the solution

AAID (a member of Vuance) and VerdaSee said that in response to fire departments and first responders calling for greater personnel safety and inventory control at fire and disaster sites, they have jointly developed the Navigator First Response System, an ultra long range RFID real-time location system for emergency services. The Navigator First Response System comprises RTLS Inventory Monitoring; Apparatus Crew Dispatch; Personnel Accountability Reporting (PAR); Down Fireman Mayday Response and Locating; Disaster Scene Triage Control and Monitoring; and First Responder Credentialing operating on a portable long range wireless mesh breadcrumb network.
