The city of Rochester, New York has secured $150,000 in state funding to install six semi-portable camera pods as a countermeasure against open air drug dealing. The city will use crime data analysis and community input to determine exactly where the cameras should be placed, and local police are currently scouting similar deployments in Chicago and New York for inspiration.
