The Pittsburgh Steelers Rashad Mendenhall used his Twitter to post comments criticizing the celebration which followed the news of the killing of OBL — and to say that we do not know the whole truth about what happened on 9/11; the Pittsburgh Steelers organization reacts angrily

Rashad Mendenhall, the Pittsburgh Steelers running back, had a good season last year. He led the AFC champions in carries (324), rushing yards (1,273), and rushing touchdowns (13). He has 2,439 yards in three seasons since being drafted in the 2008 first round out of Illinois.

The intelligence that guides his running does not appear to guide him in other areas. Fox News reports that on Monday Mendenhall posted several commented on his Twitter account regarding the killing on Osama bin Laden. “What kind of person celebrates death? It’s amazing how people can HATE a man they have never even heard speak. We’ve only heard one side…”

Mendenhall felt compelled to make a few comments on the 9/11 attacks as well. “We’ll never know what really happened. I just have a hard time believing a plane could take a skyscraper down demolition style.”

The Steelers organization reacted angrily, with team president Art Rooney II releasing a statement Tuesday praising the military operation that led the killing of OBL.

Before we get too upset with Mendenhall, we should recall that former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney (D-Georgia) also raised questions about what happened on 9/11, insinuating that the Bush administration may have been involved in it in order to create the pretext for the invasion of Iraq.
