Companies will focus on organizational information security and regulatory compliance; NSC is one of a number of innovative companies receiving VC funding from Nobska Ventures

As a running back for the Chicago Bears, Gale Sayers was known for his lightning speed and ability to sieze on the slightest defensive weakness. “Just give me eighteen inches of daylight…that’s all I need,” he said. Now his Sayers Group, a worldwide leader in IT products and managed solutions, has found another opportunity to shine by joining forces with Columbia, Maryland-based Network Security Consulting (NSC), a provider of comprehensive approaches to organizational information security. Sayers will now offer clients NSC’s Common Compliance Framework (CCF), a software tool and methodology that enables organizations to analyze, address, track, and manage the full range of regulatory and industry compliance issues.

NSC is just one of a number of companies to attract the eye and pocketbook of Nobska Ventures, a Baltimore, Maryland-based venture capital firm. In June we reported on ClassifEye, an Israeli biometric concern whose flagship product, which allows for fingerprint authentication and identification by using the user’s existing camera phones, attracted $1.2 million of Nobska funding.
