Israeli maker of UAV simulation and training solutions wins an award from an unnamed Asian country to deliver the company’s UAV training system to that country’s air force; the company will deliver its Simlat INTER (Integrated Trainer) solution, which includes high’fidelity simulation of the relevant UAV platform and its sensors, as well as the mission environment, including synthetic terrain and target modeling

A year ago we wrote that “With the growing reliance on UAVs there is a growing need for evaluating the performance of these systems’ operators, and for training personnel to get the most out of them; Israel-based Simlat has a solution” (“Simlat contracted for UAV training and evaluation,” 30 September 2009 HSNW).

We note that Herzliya, Israel-based Simlat Ltd. (company’s motto: “Every platform, every payload, every mission”) has been awarded a contract for delivering a UAV training system to the air force of a country in the Asia-Pacific region (the company did not reveal the name of the country).

The company will deliver a UAV training system and related services.

The system, Simlat INTER (Integrated Trainer), which the company says includes high-fidelity simulation of the relevant UAV platform and its sensors, as well as the mission environment, including synthetic terrain and target modeling. The operators will control the simulated platform and payload via the operational console itself, enabling a highly realistic user experience.

According to the UAV manufacturer, the simulator provides highly impressive capabilities and benefits, enhancing overall customer satisfaction with the program”, says Yoni Bar-On, customer support manager at Simlat.

Simlat is a provider of next generation mission-training solutions for unmanned vehicles systems and for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR). The company says its solutions and products are based on extensive hands-on operational experience (presumably acquired while its officers did their military service in the Israel Defense Force). Simlat’s turnkey training solutions include SIGINT, EO/IR and SAR sensors in various operational configurations. The company’s systems are available as stand-alone or embedded/integrated to legacy control stations.
