Unisys awarded Prime Contractor Status for two categories of EAGLE contract

EAGLE is a multi-billion DHS program aiming to consolidate the department’s IT operations; UNISYS has just been awarded important contracts in two categories of the program

DHS has selected Unisys (NYSE: UIS) as a prime contractor under the department’s Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge Solutions (EAGLE). DHS will use EAGLE — a key element in the department’s strategy for IT consolidation — to centralize IT procurement. EAGLE is an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract vehicle with a base period of five years and two, one-year options, for a total of up to seven years. The contract calls for each of the awarded primes and their respective teams to be allowed to compete for task orders.

DHS selected Unisys as a prime contractor for two of EAGLE’s five functional categories:

—Category One - Infrastructure engineering design, development, implementation, and integration. Under tasks in this category, Unisys would design and deploy IT infrastructure, as it has been doing for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) since August 2002

—Category Two - Operations and maintenance. Under tasks in this category, Unisys would provide solutions, processes, and procedures necessary to sustain systems once they are deployed. Among the systems are datacenters, help desk, field support, network operations center (NOC), security operations center (SOC), e-mail, voice, and video services
